Chizuru Kirishiki has returned to the Ozaki Clinic to confront Toshio, and has brought along Seishirou. Toshio phones the temple, but Seishin isn't there. He's gone to Kanemasa, where he has been fed on by Sunako. Chizuru then feeds on Toshio. With this done, he will be under her power of hypnosis. She commands him to destroy or adjust the remaining medical records to hide the deaths.
Saturday, November 5, Shakku[]
Nurse Ritsuko revives as shiki in one of the huts in the woods. She finds that she has no pulse, and realizes what has happened. Yoshie and Tohru are there to greet her. Tohru is left to give her orientation as a new shiki. To Tohru's chagrin, Ritsuko declares that she will not kill anyone, because it would make her hate herself.
Toshio has hooked up an IV drip of blood to himself. As if in a dream, he recalls the orders from Chizeru. He also recalls orders from Natsuno to fight against the shiki and their orders. He has a bite on his arm from Natsuno. When morning comes, Toshio gathers the medical records and burns them.
That night, the villagers celebrate the Kagura festival. Chizeru is back, and is pleased with what Toshio has done. They hear the music from the festival. She muses how nice it will be to walk freely in town someday, without fear. He invites her to walk to the festival with him, and she agrees. They head off, with Atsushi and Seishirou discretely following in a car.
