Personality[]
A particularly extravagant Shiki, self-described as "Flamboyant", Hayami- in his few appearances in both anime and manga- demonstrates an outspoken, exuberant, and happy-go-lucky demeanor. He is shown to be rather eccentric through his mannerisms as well, such as his tendency to chuckle and use peculiar wording even in his normal speech, as well as juggling candy bars that he keeps in his hat.
He has a tendency to say and do things that would be considered careless and inappropriate in various circumstances, even according to the standards of Shiki, such as presenting Atsushi Ookawa's funeral as if it were a celebration, in response to which even Tatsumi criticized him and reminded him to be less exhuberent.
The End[]
After the war between the humans and the risen broke out in manga, Hayami eventually died in the fire in Yamairi caused by Motoko Maeda but his fate is literally just left unknown in anime and not touched upon again even in ending itself.
In the novels,he literally stabs a burning and insane Motoko by stabbing her in the neck as an act of mercy of sorts but still gets staked by cooperation of Tamo Sadafumi and Kazuyo Yasumori as they both didnt know Motoko started the fire which was burning her as she wanted to suicide to join her children right then and there.
Trivia[]
- It seems that he is always wearing pink clothes
- He is the one who hosts the Kirishiki funerals
- In the anime, his fate seems to be left unknown or/and up to imagination as no corpse was ever shown by anime.
